ITEM SW01031: A Diminutive Figured Maple Drop Leaf Table, New England, c1760

Tiny drop leaf tables like these are extremely rare, when they're right, and have no alterations or repairs. This is a fine, old one, with almost no surface left, which we are keeping in its as-found state. Note the highly figured top, (see below). With a finish on it, this would really be a showstopper, but this is the type of piece that enjoys its original old, no doubt, first surface-the type of thing in as-found, untouched condition, that has been obviously used and enjoyed through the years. While it's small, it's built like a tank, and, no doubt, has hundred of years in front of it.
