ITEM SW01095: A Fine Classical Carved Parcel Gilt, Vert Antique, Stenciled and Ormolu Mounted Figured Mahogany Marble Top Pier Table, New York, c.1825, attributed to Meeks

This is an outstanding pier table that makes a very strong statement, using many of the bells and whistles of the classical style. It is simply the best of its type. Note the strong paw feet and the acanthus carving above, and this is as good as it gets. Also note the fully developed capitals above the desirable marble columns, also, note the original ormolu mounts. Also, of note is the marble top, which is absolutely original…few survive unbroken.
