ITEM SW01267: A Large Inlaid Mahogany Hepplewhite Demi-lune Sideboard, England, c.1800

This is a large-scale demilune sideboard in pristine condition with beautiful mahogany figuring throughout. It retains an early, probably original finish, which has been overlaid through the years with shellac and wax. We have cleaned it and built up the beautiful surface which reveals an amber colored mahogany of deep figure.

The feet are typical tapered spade feet and the case is line inlaid with crossbanding throughout. Note this is a true demilune sideboard, as every square inch is fully utilized. The drawers, etc. are all constructed in an asymmetric way to accommodate full storage.
