ITEM SW01318: A Chippendale Mahogany Drop Leaf Pembroke Table with Marlborough Feet, c.1780, New England

This is a beautiful small scale drop leaf table, retaining its original cross stretcher and Marlborough feet. The top is composed of beautifully aged mellow mahogany and is in perfect condition throughout. The legs, stretchers, drawer, etc are all original and unaltered, with no repairs or restorations. Of note, is the beautiful chamfer on the inside of each leg, which is followed by blocked cuffing, all of which denote, the Marlborough leg style. These earlier tables are generally scarce and those that have no excuses in their condition are even scarcer. This is a very functional table alongside a sofa, do to its relatively small size.
