Painting, England, c.1800
Writing desks of this George

superb condition, and interestingly has its period
blue paper linings typical of this period. The floral
decoration is handled very delicately and is finished
on all sides, enabling this piece to be used in many
ways other than against a wall. The writing surface
has a good leather inset which is edged by floral
painted satinwood.
