A George III Painted Satinwood Pembroke Table
with Canted Corners,
England, first quarter 19th century
This is a magnificent satinwood
table in all respects. The satinwood has magnificent
striping, quite unusual and sought after. If this
weren't enough, the painted decoration is of the finest.
It has a beautifully painted oval central medallion
on the top with floral motifs throughout. It is quite
literally a piece de resistance of the form.
This piece came to us from
a collection assembled by The Pebble Beach Plantation.
