ITEM SW01531: A Solid Mahogany Three-shelf Dish Stand, 19th century

This stand is beautifully executed with heavy, solid, ribbon-grain mahogany. Each dishtop is carved as one complete unit with nothing glued to its surface. The rest of the structure is solid mahogany of the best, and is the handmade work of a master craftsman, as carving the piecrust edge from a solid block of mahogany requires much skill and control.
