ITEM SW00580: A Diminutive Mahogany Sheraton Sideboard, probably Salem, North Shore, c.1800

This small-scale sideboard retains an old surface the wood of which has developed a radiant tone, which enhances the already beautiful figure on the front drawers.  The long end drawers serve as bottle drawers (see detail).  The reeding is extremely fine and suggests four strong pillars supporting and elegant casepiece (see detail).  The sides and top are of solid single-board stock and the condition is superb.
