ITEM SW00938: A Mahogany Satinwood Inlaid Three Pedestal Dining Room Table, English,
last quarter, 19th century

This large dining room table is the most desirable sought-after form. Pedestal tables such as this, supported by saber legs on turned urn-shaped columns are the table of choice. The three pedestals are all independent and this table can work either with two pedestals or three. There are also, in addition, two independent leaves that can be placed between any of the pedestal sections, or stored separately, all of which are connected with brass clips.

The mahogany has a beautiful figure and is all constructed of choice solid boards which have a mellow, soft, amber glow, and is cross-banded with brilliant flame satinwood. Also, note that the satinwood is then banded with an ebony band (see detail). This is a fine quality table constructed without aprons in the true Hepplewhite design construction.

This table is in perfect condition with no breaks or alterations. We have completely cleaned and French polished this piece.
