ITEM SW00952:
A Walnut Queen Anne Tea
Table with Trifid feet, Irish, c.1760

This is a fine tea table
in superb condition with no repairs or alterations.
Without examination, one would think this were a Philadelphia
tea table, because of the classic form, with the "stocking
feet" and the general construction throughout.
Because of the red cedar in the blocks, this is Irish,
and interestingly, worth many times less in value.
However, this is a very clean piece, please see the
underneath with almost all of the original blocks
in place, never having been removed.
\
This is a small scale table,
delicate in appearance, but formidably built. Note,
the two-board top and the typical separation between
the boards, caused by shrinkage over time, and expected.
This space can be filled, but we prefer to leave it
alone, as it adds to the charm of a piece (although
revarnished and polished) and is one of the cleanest
we have collected over the years.

Height:
27 1/4 in. Length: 27 1/4 in. Depth: 18 3/4 in.
